Business owners gathered Good Friday at the

Cross in the Marketplace

Good Friday meeting at Talamore Country Club, Ambler, PA

Chief executives and owners from all over the Delaware Valley gathered  on the morning of Good Friday at The Cross in the Marketplace. The community breakfast event was sponsored by the members of C12 Philadelphia.

Why did we do this?

As a group of Christian business owners who have been meeting together each month for more than two years, we have been privileged to see the ups/downs of that period, our respective reactions, and the results.  Not all of our experiences have been positive.  In fact, it is the response to some of the more negative issues that we wanted to share with our neighbors in the business community as a means of providing hope.  This seemed most appropriate on the morning of Good Friday.

Comments from attendees:

  • I appreciate the challenges made to me on running a Christian company.
  • Excellent program!  Thank you!
  • I thought the meeting was phenomenal!  Thank you for the opportunity to hear and share these testimonies.
  • It's great to see so many business owners who want to run their company in a way that honors God.
  • I pray that God will bless the mission of C12.
  • Thank you for your encouragement.
What was shared at The Cross in the Marketplace?

In addition to the valuable sharing between peers over breakfast, a panel discussion featured Nancy Hansen of Capstone Legacy Foundation, Robert Melloniw of Mimco Equipment, Rip Collins of The Matworks, and Bob Bradley of Bradley Graphics.  Some of their responses to questions are highlighted below:

  • The economic crisis stung at first, but has made us sharper, smarter, leaner and more profitable.
  • Running a company to honor God IS good business.  Our clients and employees value what we stand for and know we're trying to do the right thing compared to some competitors.
  • We started a brand new concept to address an age-old poor service area in our industry as a result of one of our C12 meetings.
  • I prayed for C12 for 5 years not knowing the name of the organization.
  • As a way to reach out to our employees we offered Financial Peace University in our company.  Many responded and tell me of the blessing it has been to them.
  • We are seeing an afirming response to publishing our mission and values which are Biblically based.

The featured speaker of the morning was David Weigelt, CEO of Immersion Active.  David shared his personal testimony tracing the events along the path of a kid trying to make it on his own and the three distinct events that led to his personal relationship  with Jesus and his personal ministry.
